Nick Ashooh is an Emmy-Winning television and sports radio personality based in Washington D.C., with 106.7 The Fan and The Team 980, as well as the Locked On Podcast Network.
Nick is the former co-host of BetMGM Tonight on Audacy’s BetQL Network, as well as CBS Sports Radio. Nick also helped create and host DC Sports Live and Wizards Outsiders on NBC Sports Washington, and was also a regular contributor on Wizards Pre and Postgame Live, and Capitals Pre and Postgame Live, while also launching and hosting Wizards Predict The Game broadcasts, then a first of it’s kind.
Previous stops include hosting talk shows with ESPN 980, and nationally with Fox Sports Radio. He also spent time with SiriusXM Sports.
This is actually Plan B though, after his childhood dream of playing in the NBA was quickly realized to be impossible.
You know how they say you can do anything? Well, that’s actually not true. Not the NBA. Not for Nick.
When an accurate scouting report would say “average height, mediocre shooting ability, below average vertical, and no noteworthy speed”, you know it’s time for Plan B.
So that’s what Nick did. He decided that talking about other people playing sports was a much better plan.
He started off as a programming intern at ESPN 980 while majoring in communications at George Mason University. After graduation he became an update anchor and fill-in host, as well as the Director of Production.
Nick followed the old saying “be willing to do everything”, and used that to find his way into the sports media business. Except cleaning toilets. That’s where he drew the line.
